About

Hello and welcome,

my name is Alistair Blake, but enough about me, this is a showcase of my 'free time' work. Here on this blog you should find two photos per week, one a pencil drawing and one a magazine cover starting from the day after my birthday the 18th of June, I plan to produce one copy per week finished or not it will end up here.

Why?

There are a few reasons why I am doing this they are as follows;

1. I have finished My GCSE's and I don't want to rot away all day for nothing before my A-Levels, I want to rot away with something to show for it.

2. Before My A-Level art I don't want to fall out of practice and fail miserably.

3. I am bored as hell

4. The above due to the fact I live in the middle of nowhere and have nothing to do.

5. Why not? It's fun.

The Rule

At the end of the week I cant continue.

And

unofficially big plain spaces are annoying, avoid them

My Inspiration / Origin

I visited TATE modern a while ago to see Damien Hirsts exhibition, I did not enjoy it much due to the way children are so excited by dead things, I soon left and looked upstairs to find out about an Italian artist whose name I cant remember but my mum once referred to as spaghetti. I found his exhibit much more interesting mainly because it was quiet and I could concentrate, this artist had also done magazine covers. it just seemed like the perfect idea to do lots when it popped into my head.

What Else Can You Expect?

I intend to keep this blog as a host for this project but, there will be other pages and these pages updated each update will be accompanied by a post. On top of the current pages I intend to have one with other work of mine.

Send in artwork via email - munchegod@hotmail.co.uk or post a comment with a link to a Photobucket or something, email is much preferred.

A short or long description of your artwork would be greatly appreciated and greatly increase the chances of your work being posted. As it is your chances are pretty high

It would be preferable if your art fitted into my definition of art, a bit more confusing that the laws of robotics.

Rule 1. Be unique, so no IKEA chairs but a handmade ones would be fine

And/Or

Rule 2. Has an idea for example Ai Weiwei and his seeds not unique but there is an idea, an IKEA chair does not have an idea

Rule 3. if your art follows rule one and not rule two it must have a level of skill proportionate to the artist so a one year old can get on this blog no problem.

Looking To Improve

I have never blogged before so am not sure how to go about it, therefore constructive criticism is completly welcome, by the end of the year I hope to have a readable blog. If you want to contribute feel free but remember it's about the drawings. Remember to she what I have already realised or been told below.
